How do you deal with the feeling of impending doom? Or disbelief that an unimaginable reality seems to be hurtling towards us behind a closed curtain? Or that tiny feeling of hope that something wonderful and totally unexpected might still happen (a hope you barely want to engage in, because you're afraid it might be dashed at noon EST tomorrow)?
I find solace in this community. Thank you for being there - for continuing to listen to, to witness, and to comfort one another; for educating and empowering, and for staying in the fight.
Thank you to those of you who have been praying for all of us. A lady from the #14thNOW volunteer prayer group reminded me of Psalm 23 (see below) today. She told me how she had once had to sue an unethical company, and how terrified she had been of going court, of having to face the intimidating company lawyers. She said she just kept saying the 23rd Psalm to herself "over and over", in preparation, during the days before the hearing. And when the time came to sit in the court room, just inches away from the Defendant and his team, she "wasn't scared at all - not at all!" I took her recommendation to heart, looked up the Psalm, and read it out loud to myself a few times throughout the day today. It helped. I felt a great calm afterwards.
I must remind myself again and again that most Americans do not want Donald Trump to be President. The people we see cheering when he speaks in public represent a minority. The thousands we saw in the streets this weekend represent the majority. And, as Jessica Denson tends to say, a good number of the MAGA minority are good people, just hypnotized.
What will you do on January 20th? Let me know! I want to be surrounded by peaceful warriors who have deep roots. So I decided to attend the MLK March in San Francisco.

Working on forming a national or maybe international federation of associations working to resolve issues related to compassion, democracy, the U.S. Constitution that’s us and some of them, too.

I was told by a lady in my Dance Jam class this morning that people are not turning their TVs on from 12-2 today, in protest so I'll do that and of course not watch the inauguration. Thank you for your posts and for creating this website. It's very comforting, especially today.
I will be working a few hours with my 7 year old client and then I have a friend visiting from Virginia Beach who wants to spend some time with me before I move. I originally planned to go to DC tomorrow but my presence has been requested elsewhere. : )
I'm very interested to know what the turnout was in DC today for Trump's supporters. There were a very scattered few of them there yesterday, but I imagine their turnout was tiny compared to ours on Saturday. I'm sure the reason Trump moved the inauguration indoors is because he knows his detractors would outnumber his supporters.
